Hero, schooner, for Wairoa, early ENTERED INWARDS. APRIL. B—Napier,B—Napier, s.s., 44 tons, Bendall, from Auckland via Poverty Bay, with 10 tons flour, Watt Brothers ; 2 tons soap, 80 cases fruit, order.—Watt Brothers, agents. The s.s. Napier, Capt. Bendall, left Auckland at 8 p m. on Saturday last, Ist inst., and experienced head winds to the East Cape, which was rounded on Sunday, at midnight. From thence, strong easterly wind until arrival at Poverty at Bay 10 a.m. on Monday; entered the Turanganui river at 5 p.m. ; landed cargo and 3 passengers, and got ready for sailing in the evening, but owing to a "black north-easter " setting in, remained all night, and started at 5 o'clock the next morning. Shortly after leaving the wind chopped into the southward, and blew very hard. Anchored at Wangawehi at 10 a.m., and landed part of original cargo from Napier, and left Wangawehi at 8 p.m. on Friday; arrived here at 6 o'clock this morning. Capt. Bendall reports having seen the Star of the South pass Wangawehi at 4 p.m. yesterday. It will be seen by a telegram from D nnedin that the schooner Crest of the Wave has left Dunedin fqr this port. The brigantine Amherst was towed into the Iron Pot this morning by the s.s. Napier. The brigantine Lone Star and the barque Cyrus, from Adelaide, with cargoes of wheat, flour, &c, arrived at Auckland on the 30th March. The cutter Woodstock and the schooners Tawera and Muriwai, from Poverty Bay, arrived at Auckland ou the Ist inst. The schooner Kate Grant, from Lyttelton, with flour, oats, &c, arrived at Auckland on the Ist inst., after a very stormy passage. The schooner fcaucy Lass left Lyttelton for Auckland the same day as the Xate Grant (the 22nd ult.) She was last seen from the latter vessel oh the 24th ulr., off Cape Palliser, both vessels at the time laboring heavily.
