Ross, returned to port at an early hour this morning, having, for the second time, been .unable to land the cargo she took on board for Waimararaa. She left Napier on Wednesday, the 22nd March, and arrived at Waimarama the next d&j ; found too much sea on to land any cargo, and left on the 24th, for Napier. A strong N.E. wind prevailed at the time, with heavy sea; this lasted until Monday, 27th, when a southerly burster compelled her to ran for Wangawehi for sheller. Arrived there on the night of the 28th ult, and remained at anchor there until 1 o'clock yesterday morning, when she loft for Napier; arrived here at 6 o'clock this morning. The master of the Three Brothers informs us that the cutter Charlotte, for this port, left Wangawehi in company with his vessel, and when last seen was off Table Cape. These. Star of the South steamed for the Thames and Auckland and Auckland at 6 o'clock last evening. According to the Timaru Herald, a steamer has been recently purchased in England by the New Zealand Meat Preserving Company. The boat was originally built as a yacht for hia Holiness the Pope, but as the bargain was not completed, she fell into the hands of the abC'72 cc-aipf.ny.
