The a.s. Star of tho South, Captain Holmes, left Auckland on Sunday, March 26, at 9.30 a.m., and had a string fait- wind until rounding the East Cape sit 10.30 a.m. on the following day. Called in at Tologa Bay at 5.30 p.m. the same daj ; landed 36 rams, 2 horses. |»nd 1 passenger (Mr Morn's) ; left at 7.30 the same night, and was off Poverty Bay at 10 p.m., when a heavy southerly (.rale with a high aea was encountered. On i uesday, at 7 a.m., put in to Wangawehi for shelter, and remained there, in company with the Gro-Ahead and geveral other vessels, until Saturday last, Ist April, resuming her voyage at 9 o'clock that ;nprning. Experienced S.W wind with heavy head sea across the Bay, and anchored in the roadstead at 11 o'clock the same night; entered the Iron Pot yesterday forenoon. The B.s. Q-Q-Ahead, Capfc. was off Gape Colville at nooo the same day. in company with the Star of the Snath. Parsed Gape Runaway at 9 30 a.m on the 27th, and rounded the .East Cape at 1-M5 p.m. At 6 a.m. on the 28th, when off Gable End Foreland, experienced a strong southerly burster, with heavy sea, in consequence of which put into Wangaw*hi for shelter, anchoring there at 830 a.m. On Saturday, Ist April, at 230 p.m., proceeded outside, but had tq put back,' being unable to make any headway. Left again at 7 o'clock the sanw night, expe« rieneed a heavy southerly swell across the Bay, and brought up in the roadstead at 7 o'clock yesterday morning, entering the Iron Pot about 11 a.m; • - - • - The 8.9. Lord Ashley, Capt. Andrews, left Port Chalmers on Tuesday, March 21, at 3.30 p.m., and arrived at Timaru at daylight next morning ; loaded up wool for Lyttelton, and left Timaru at 9 o'clock the same evening; arrived atAka'coa at 6 a.m. on the 23rd ult., ■ and left again at noon, arriving at Lyttelton at 4p m. the same day. Owing to a continuation of wet weather, was unable to either discharge or'load, and consequently did not get awuy again until the 27th ult. at 11 p.m. Experienced strong S.E. weather during the passage, and arrived at Wellington at 4 p.m. on the 28th. Left Wellington at 10 am. on the 39th, with a strong gale from 8. E and a heavy sea. At 2.45 p.m., was compelled to bear up for Wellington, and anchored in Worsens Bay at 4 p.m. Remained there until Saturday morning, April 1. Weighed anchor and crossed the bar at 7 a.m. Th=» wind was stili from S.E., blowing hard, with heavy sea. Hounded Cape Padiser at 2 p.m. ; pa?eed Cape at 4 a.m. yesterday, and arrived at the anchorage here at 11 a.m —The Ashley took hor departure northwards last evening. The schooner Three Brothers and the cutter Charlotte were both at Wangawehi when the Go-Ahead left on Saturday nignt. The three-masted schooner Ocean Wave resumed her voyage to Lyttelton yesterday afternoon. The s s. Napier may now be hourly looked for from Auckland vis Poverty Bay, as she was adveriised to leave the former po.t on Wednesday last, 29th ult. The s.s. Rungatira and the p.s. Luna, from Napier, bath arrived at Wellington yesterday —the former at 213 p.m., and the latter at 6.10 p.m. The schooner Golden Isle sailed for Auckland this evening with a cargo of wheat, flux, sheep, &c.
