The Evening Po*t says .--The Challenge Cup so generously presented to the city volunteers l>y Captain Pearce, is to D 3 competed for on Easter Monday 110th April.) • The terms settled by a Joint Match Committee, composed of representatives of the thi*ee city corps, are briefly as follows :—The cup is to be fited for on Easter Monday and the Prince of WaW BUthday each year, and the name, corps, and «*core of each winner will be engraved on the cup, and he will keep it until the next com petition. If won twice in succession by the same person, or three times al though not in succession, it becomes the absolute property of the wi.mer. The ranges are to be 200, 300, 400, 500. and"6oo yards, 7 shots at each. Standing and Wimbledon targets at the tirst range, class targets and kneeling at the second range, and any position at the other ranges. No sighting shots are to be allowed, and competitor* must use ammunition which will be supplied on the ground at cost price. An entrance fee of 2s 6d will be charged, and half the gross entrances will go with the cup. Arrangements will abo be made for offering second and third prizes. The printed rules of the Joint Match Committee, so far as they are applicable, will be. held to apply to the com petition. All competitors will be re quiied to fire in uniform.
