Resident Magistrate's Court.—■ The following cases came before the Resident Magistrate this morning . Manoy v. Marsh. —A claim of £7 10s 7d for goods, chiefly provisions, supplied to defendant's wife.—Judgment by default for the amount claimed and 13s costs. Vautier v. Searles.-—k. claim of £5 lis 2d.—Judgment by default for amount claimed (less 14s 6d interest) and 13s costs. The Provincial Council Elections are now all over. The result of the last—that for the Waimarama district —will be found in our telegraphic column. A complete list of the members composing the new Council appears elsewhere. Waipawa.—lt will be seen by advertisement that a Tent of the Independent Order of Rechabites will be opened in the above district on the evening of Thursday next, 30th March. District Court.—Yesterday, in the case of Buchanan and Weston v. Watt Brothers, a claim of £2OO for agistment, the Bench granted ,£76, agistment for 38 days, at the rate of £2 per day. The costs of the case were £5 lis.—Mr Wilson gave notice of appeal on behalf of the defendants. In re F. Harrison, the native witnesses who had lent the bankrupt money were examined at considerable length, after which the case was further adjourned for the production of other evidence.—The Court was appointed to sit again at 2 p in. to-day. Hope of Natier Tent, I.O.R.—The second quarterly meeting of the above Tent was held on the evening of Tuesday last, when the officers for the ensuing six months were appointed. Bro. W. Denholm was elected Chief Rider, vice Bro. M. Troy; Bro. J-Burtton was elected Deputy Ruler; and Bro. T. Fox Secretary, the former Secretary having resigned.
