HOKITIKA.
Tuesday, March 21. A fire occurred at 3 a.m. to-day at the Westland Saw Mills, which destroyed the whole of the lower mill, including the machinery, also the house of Findlay, one of the proprietors. A strong northerly wind was blowing at the time, but the surrounding property was saved by pulling down several buildings The loss to the firm in estimated at ,£6,000, and Mr Eindlay's private loss—one hoijse and furniture—-is .£7OO. The whole is uninsured.
