Hawke's Bay Times. Nullius addictus jurare in verba magistri. MONDAY, MARCH 20, 1871.
There are few of us who have not, more or less, felt the inconvenience to which the town has hitherto been put from the want of an iron foundry. Some have found the bars of stoves and grates burnt out and destroyed by use, and have not been able to replace them. Others have been desirous of using railings or trellis work, in cast iron, for the ornamentation of gardens, buildings, &c, but have been unable to carry out their ideas except at the great expense of importing what they required from distant parts. We are glad to be able to say that all this inconvenience is at an end. The first pasting was successfully performed at the Napier foundry qn Saturday last, and from an examination, of the articles produced we are able to express our entire satisfaction with the result. We trust that the euterprising projector of the new industry for Hawke's Bay will meet with }iis reward in the encouragement from Ms fellow settlers in town and country which is his due. One of Ihe articles past on Saturday was a shoeing table fpr th,e purpose of wheels, which feigns 6 cwt,
