The s.s. Lord Ashley, Captain Andrews, arrived in port this afternoon, just as wo were going to press. She is advertised to steam for Wellington and Southern Ports to-morrow moaning.
The departures since our last comprise the barque Santiago, for London, on Saturday night, and,' yesterday, the s.s. Star of the South, for the Thames and Auckland via Tologa Bay j and the schooner Three Brothers, for Waiinaraaia and Te Apiti. The ketch Mary Ann Hudson is loading for Wairoa, and will sail on Wednesday. The s.s. Kapier, we learn, i 9 ashoro at Wairoa. JNo particulars have reached us.
The schooner Wild Wave lias cleared out for Picton, and will probably sail to-morrow. From India, intelligence has prrived of the foundering at sea of tiie clipper ship General Outran?, of .Bombay, and the loss of upwards of GO lives.
The ship Jessie Eeadman left London on the 80th December for with about 90 passengers, chiefly Government immigrants. A new paddle wheel steamer named the Maitland left London for i-'ydney on the 16fcli '.December. She was built at Glasgow, and was supplied with engines of 250 horse-power by an Aberdeen firm. The Maitland is intended for the Sydney and Hunter River trade.
