ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF HAMEDEff IN PURSUANCE of " The Regulation of Elections Act, 1870," I, Alexander St. Ciair Inglis, Esq., Returning Officer, for the Electoral District of Hampden, <io hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the fourth day of February, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, under the Public Seal of the Colony, an Election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as a member of tue Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay for the said Electoral District ; and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at Mr Mathew'a store, Hampden, hi the said Province, at noon on FRIDAY, the third day of March, 1871; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on TUESDAY, the fourteenth day of March, 1871. IN PURSUANCE of " The Regulations of Election Act, 1870," I, Thomas Richardson, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Petane, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the fourth day of February, One thousand eight hundred and seventy* one, under the Public Seal of the Colony, an Election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as a Member of the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay for the said Electoral District; and that the nomination of candidates will take place at the School-house, Petane, in the said Province, at noon on MONDAY, the twenty-seventh day of February, 1871; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on WEDNES* DAY, the fifteenth March, 1871. I ENTERS will be received & the L Office of the General Government Agent, JNapisr, up to SATURDAY, the Bth day of April next, at noon, from parties "willing to Contract for the SUPPLY of RATIONS to Constabulary and other Forces, or Road Parties, at the Posts on the Taupo Lines. Tenders to be sent in for two separate Contracts, one to include all posts between ISapier and Runanga inclusive, the other to include ail posts from Runanga to Tapuahaeruru. Parties tendering to state the rate per complete field ration; also, rates at which they will supply stores in bulk. Contractors will be allowed privilege of keeping Canteens, bubject to proper conditions. Twenty days' rations will be required to be kept at each post, and securities entered into for the clue fulfilment of the contract. The lowest tender not necessarily accepted. Full information can be obtained on application at the offiee of the General Government Agent, Napier. Contracts to commence from 9th May, 1871. J. D. ORMOND, General Government Agent.
