WELLINGTON.

Friday, March 10. A new company has been formed here for the construction of the patent slip. Sir Charles Clifford has been empowered by the Messrs. Kennard to sell the material lyiug at Evans' Bay, at a valuation to be paid in stock of the new company. The Patent Slip Bill has passed its second reading.

Mr. Fitzherberfc consents to stand as Superintendent. The Government has received a telegram from Lord Kimberley to the effect that the Black Sea question causes no apprehension. A petition has been lodged to-day against the election of Messrs. Hunter and Pearce.
