PROVINCIAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF PETANE. The nomination of candidates for the representation of the Petane district in the Provinpial Council cook place this morning. The attendance, in spite of the weather, was very fair. The following were the nominations : John Parsons. Proposer, Mr J. Steven ; seconder, Mr W. fillers. Edward Towgood. Proposer, Mr Joseph Torr; seconder, Mr B. Baker. William Routledge. Proposer, Mr H. Troutbeck; seconder, Mr W. Villers. Joseph Rhodes. Proposer, Mr W. Hawker; seconder, Mr J. Steven. A show of hands was taken, with the following result:— Towgood 7 Rhodes 4 Routledge 3 Parsons .. 2 A poll having been demanded on behalf of Mr Parsons, a vote of thanks to the Returning Officer closed the proceedings.
