Monday, Feb. 13. The election for Kodney to-day resulted as follows :—At Waiwera, Farnell, 73; Shepherd, 3. Other retains have yet to come in.
A great meeting is to be held to-night to celebrate the passing of the permissive clause in the Licensing Bill. The Superintendent, Executive, and many of the members of the Council will be present.
The Caledonian yield for eight days has been 5,096 ounces. One thousand ounces are on hand for next week. A dividend of ,£5 has been declared.
The Thames Mining Company have declared a dividend of ten shillings. An extraordinary find has been made at a low level in the Nonpareil Company's claim to-day. Specimens of great richness have been taken out.
New ground is being taken up daily in the Tararu district.
