George Andrew Oliver, Esq., Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Clive, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the fourth day of February, One thousand eight hundred ami seventy-one, under the Public Seal of the Colony, an Election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve aS a Member of the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay for the said Electoral District ; and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at the School-house, West Clive, in the said Province, at noon on TUESDAY, the twenty-eighth day of February, 1871; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on the ninth day of March, 187 J.
