Thursday, Feb. 9. The polling at the Thames has resulted as follows—Swan, 498; O'Neill, 462. The returns from Tapu and Coromandel, however, give O'Neill a majority of 171. The Waitemata election has resulted in a majority of 124 for Henderson.
Tbe Caledonian claim crush a ton of specimens to-day. A Tapu miner, named Sullivan, has had his neck crushed by a falling log. His recovery is considered doubtful. Two men, named Connor and Brownley, have been injured by an accidental explosion.
Ohinemuri advices state that Te Hira has finally consented to the overland mail.
