She steamed for Mangakuri this afternoon, in ballast, and will return to port with a cargo of wool. The Pioneer, a little steamer bult by Mr Thomas Henson, of Wanganui, made her trial trip a few days ago on the Wanganui river, and with 251bs of steam a speed of 5 and a half knots was obtained.
