MR MORICE IN OTAGO.

The following extract from a private letter from the Rev. G. Morice, who recently went to Otago as delegate to the Presbyterian Assembly in that Province, has been handed to us for publication. The letter, which is dated the 17th inst., was only received to-day ;

" I have been most kindly received here, and am told my speech last night was just what was wanted to remove misconceptions and advance the cause of union The Synod meetings have been harassing, though interesting; the night before last we were at it till 5 a.m. There are some most able speakers, and many of the discussions have been very spirited. Unfortunately, however, owing to the number of political meetings, the proceedings have been most inadequately reported in the newspapers. In the end of this week I purpose taking a run through the Clutha district and the neighboring gold-fields, returning in time to leave by the Lord Ashley."
