N pursuance of " The Regulation of Elections Act, 1870," I, Singleton Rochfobt, Esq., Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Clive, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a writ, bearing date the thirtieth day of December, 1870, under the Public Seal of the Colony, an Election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as Member of the House of Representatives for the said Electoral District, and that the nomination of candidates will take place at the Court House, Waipawa, at noon, on the twenty-sixth day of January, 1871, and that the Poll, if necessary, will be taken on the second day of February, 1871.
