Porangahau.—The Hey. Mr Taylor requests us to announce that he will (D.Y.) conduct Divine Service at Wal|ingford at 11 am. and at Porangahau at 3 p.m. on Suncjay, the 29 rh instant. Resident Magistrate's Court.— Pur report of this day's proceedings is deferred till to-morrow. Impounded Stock—A sale of the above (unless previously redeemed) will Ipe held at Meanee at noon to-morrow. J}aily Newspapers are rapidly in pressing in number in this Colony. The Nelson Examiner, the oldest paper in Zealand, has " turned over a new jeaf" with the New Year, and is now published every morning, instead of three times a week as hitherto. The TyVanganui Chronicle is, or will be sfyartl}, published every morning, and £he Wellington Independent, without any preliminary announcement, issued jts first daily number on the 14th inst., —a sheet full news size, containing 28 polumns, making the third daily in Wellington. In the Province of Marlborough, hitherto content with weekly find semi-weekly papers, an evening journal has now started. The latest Announcement of this nature is one whipb appeared in the Hawke's Bay |jgra]4 of thi* morning, from which we
lean*, that, on and after Monday next, our contemporary appear, in a reduced form, as a daily morning journal." The San Fianeisco News of the World will be issued monthly as a graituitous supplement to paid-up subscribers, and for the convenience of country readers the semi-weekly issue is to be still continued.—Advance, Napier!
