Hawke's Bay Times. Nullius addictus jurare in verba magistri. THURSDAY, JANUARY 19, 1871.
Resignation.—The resignation byAlexander Alexander, Esq., of Wharerangi, Hawke's Bay, of his appointment as a Justice of the Peace for the Colony Jias been accepted. Appointment.—Mr Kraeffc, Pilot at Port Ahuriri, is the officer appointed to inspect vessels for the purpose of seeing that they are properly provided with lights, and with the means of makingfog signals, as required by the Board of Trade regulations issued in pursuance pf *'The (imperial) Merchant Shipping Amendment Act, 1862." Napier Kifle Volunteers.— The first of a series of weekly parades of the above company took place at 6 o'clock last evening on the us,ual parade ground, Plive Square. All the officers were present, and but few of the company ;absent. The men were exercised for upwards of an hour by Major Withers, and on the whole performed the different evolutions creditably. . The band •was in attendance, and played two or |hree tunes. Two new men were added tp the company.—The next parade will take place qn Wednesday next, at 6 g'gio,ck p.m.
