The es. Rangatira, Captain Renner, left Wellington at 0.15 p.m. on Friday last, 6th inst., and arrived here on Saturday night. To-day, the Rangatira assisted in the oper ationa connected with the launch of the Star of the South, and leaves for Wellington at 8 o'clock to-night. The brig Zingara, Gapt. Ockonden, left Wellington on Saturday, 31st December, and experienced N.E. winds and calms to Bare Island on the 7th inst. A southerly breeze was caught that night, and the vessel dropped anchor in the roadstead at 6 o'clock yesterday morning. The Zingara will load wool at this port for London direct, and have quick des* patch. . We believe she will be brought into the inner harbor as 30on as she is lightened sufficiently. The s.s. Napier steamed for Mahia, Poverty Bay, and Tologa Bay, on Saturday evening, with 30 head of cattle and a miscellaneous cargo- She may be expected to return from Poverty Bay to-morrow morning. The brig Maggie will leave for Newcastle to-morrow (weather permitting). The s.s. Taranaki, Capt. Wheeler, may be expected to arrive from Auckland on or aoout Thursday next, 12th inst., and will meet with quick despatch for Wellington and Southern Ports. The s s. Lord Ashley, Capt. Andrews, may be expected to arrive from the South about the 13th or 14th inst.
