The Live Stock Export from Port Ahuriri during the twelve months ending 31st December, comprises 1,604 head of cattle, 20,104 sheep, and 15 horses. Taradale. —From our advertising columns it will be seen that Mr Rymer has made an alteration in his arrangements, and now run* the Meanee Express to Taradale on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Registration. The Registration Officer notifies that qualified persons wishing to place their names on the Electoral Roll, or those desirous of changing the description of their qualifications, may do so during the months of January, February, and March. The form prescribed by the Act appears in our advertising columns. The Elections.---The nomination of a representative for the Napier District in the General Assembly is fixed for the 19th instant, at noon and the poll, if requised, on the 24th. The nomination for the Olive District takes place on the 26th instant, at Waipawa ; and the poll, if demanded, on the 2nd proximo. —For details vide ad\ertisements. Those individuals who disgust the community by scribbling offensive language in public places m this town, will do well to take warning by the notice issued by the Inspector of Police, that a reward oi £2 will be paid to any person who may be the means of their conviction. We hope that this will have the effect of checking this disgraceful practice, for we have no dobt that any persons convicted of this offence will be punished as they deserve.
