WELLINGTON.
Saturday, Dec, 31. Dr. Featherston returned here from England yesterday. He landed at 5 p.m. : the wharf was crowded, and all the shipping in port were covered with bunting. All the Cabinet Minister* were present, and over 1000 persons. It was certainly the greatest reception ever given to any person in Wellington. The Doctor was repeatedly and loudly cheered. Mr J. C. Richmond is reported to have said at Nelson that he would not stand for Wellington.
