Napieh Land and Building Society, No. 2. —Subscriptions will be received at the society's office, Government Buildings, between the hours of 7 and 8 this evening. The Lyttelton Times says :—We are authorised to state that the General Government have approved of the scheme laid before the Provincial Council at its last session for the apportionment of the .£B,OOO voted by the General Assembly to the Road Boards of this province, and that its payment, in accordance therewith, may be expected to be made almost immediately. The Grey River Argus i says: —As it is now over live weeks since Mr Twohill, of Greymouth challenged any person in the Colony to run ijim for a certain sum of money and the championship of New Zealand, he now claims the lienor of being the fleetest runner in the colony.
