About 25 miles of bush requires to be felled I chain wide, and a roadway cleared and stumped of 20 feet. The Work will be let in contracts of 2 to 3 miles as here inafrer described, viz. ; • No. I.—From the entrance of the Manawalu Bush, at Takapau, to the Makotoku stream, about 2J miles No. 2.—From Makotoku stream tq Mangatewai-jti, about 2 miles No. 3.—From Mangatewai iti to Mangatera, about 2% miles No. 4. —From Mangatera to Tahor raiti, about 3 miles No. 5.
