DECEMBER. 26—Napier, es-» 44 tons, Bendalj, for Poyerty Bay, with 30 head cattle, Heller; 80 cases biscuit, 7 gunnies sqgur, 5 bans oats, 1 bale bags, JOO bags, 6 hhds. ale, Watt Bros. —Watt Brothers, agentsThe schooner Three Brothers, Ross, master, from JVfoeangiangi, with a enrgo of wool, arrived in port early on Sunday morning, 25th jnst. In entering the Iron Pot, had a hole knocked in her bows by some means by the anchor ; the damage is now being repaired. The brig Maggie, Capt. Arnold, brought up jn the roadstead about noon on Sunday last, 25th inst., from Newcastle, N.S.W-, with a large cargo, as per " entered inwards." She left Napier on the 11th November, and for two days had light northerly winds ; a heavy N.W. gale was then experienced, which, early next morning, gave place to a southerly wind with fine weather. On that day (the lish) ppoke the barque P.CE. and the three-masted schooner Lady Bird, both bound to Newcastle. At 6 a.m. on the }sth encounted a strong N.W. gale, which compelled the vessel fo bear up for shelter in Cloudy Bay ; dropped anchor off Port Underwood in nine fathoms of water at 6 o'clock the same evening. At 11.20 p.m. the wind veered to the S.E., with Jieavy squalls and rain. Weighed anchor and made sail. At 4 am. on the 16th passed Mana Island, a-nd at 10 a.m. cleared Cook's Straits.' Sighted the P.CE. and Lady Bird again at 6 pm. the same day. The next morning passed the latter vessel. Variable weather was then experienced until arrival at Newcastle at noon the 28th. Having discharged ballast and loaded with coal, &c, for Napier, left Newcastle at Q p.m. cm the 3rd Pec. Passed Lord Howe's Island on the 7th, and rounded the East Cape on the 21st. Light and variable winds and calms throughout the psasage were then experienced, and the vessel arrived in the roadstead as above. She will be brought into the Iron Pot as soon as a sufficient quantity of coal has been taken out @f her. The 8.9. Napier took her departure for Poverty Bay last night, with 30 head cattle, a quantity of general cargo, and 2 passengers.
