About 25 miles of bush*requires to be felled 1 chain wide, and a roadway cleared and stumped of 20 feet. The Work will be let in contracts of 2 to 3 miles as here inafter described, viz. :■--■- No. 1. —Erom the entrance of the Manawatu Bush, at Takapau, to the Makotoku stream, about 2*. miles No. 2.—Erom Makotoku stream to Mangatewai-iti, about 2 miles No. 3.—fe'romMangatewaiiti to Manga lera, about irales No. 4. —Erom Mangatera to Tahoraiti, about 3 miles No. 5. — broin Tahoraiti to Matahiwi, about 1| miles No. 6.—Erom Matahiwi towards th© Mauawatu Gorge, 2 miles more or less No. 7.—2 miles more or less from No. 6 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 8.—2 miles more or less from No. 7 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 9. —2 miles more or less from No. 8 contiact Exact limits of Contracts Nos. 6 and 0 inclusive will be lixed after survey.
