Sealy, Trust .Commissioner, notifies thai, he will be prepared to hold the enquiries required by the above Act at the Council Chamber, Napier, every Tuesday and Friday at 10 a.m. until further notice, commencing to-morrow. Militia Notice. —By proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, the militia are called out for training and exercise in the following districts :—South Napiei, North Napier, Wairoa, Wellington (country districts), Bangitikei, Greytown, and Master ton. The Napier Volunteer Artillery had, on Saturday evening, their first shot and shell practice from their Arm►strong gun (a six-pounder) The gun detachment fell in at the gun shed under Lieuts. Bout ledge and Swan, and was marched to the Spit. The gun was stationed near the flag>taff, and fired the target being a small cask with a white flag floating over the top. Considering that thjs was the first practice, the firing was very creditable. We must not omit to mention that Lieut. Isaacs, of the Auckland Artillery, was present during the tiring on Saturday, and rendered ever)' assistance.
