Friday, Dec. 16. The twentieth anniversary of the Province of Canterbury was celebrate 1 today. A general holiday having been proclaimed, rural sports took place in Latimer Square, a flower show in Mr. Wynn Williams' grounds, races at Lincoln, a regatta at Kaiapoi, &c. Unfortunately, a thunderstorm during the afternoon spoiled the successful termination of the holiday.
