WANGANUI.
Thursday, Dec. 15. John Hasting, second engineer of the s.s. Storm Bird was killed this morning. The deceased was o'Uing the engines, and, falling forwards, the crank struck him on the head, and caused instantaneous death. The steamer put back, and the body was landed. An inquest will be held this afternoon.
