BALED TENDERS will be received up to noon on TUESDAY, the 17th January, IS7I, at the office of the undesigned, at Napier, from parties desirous of CONTRACTING for BOAT) WORK ia that portion of the Seventy-mile Bush situate between Takapau and the Manawatu Gorge. About 25 miles of bush requires to be-felled 1 chain wide, and a roadway cleared and stumped of 20 feet. The Work will be let in contracts of 2 to 3 miles as here< inafter described, viz. ; JSTo. I.—From the entrance of the Manawatu Bush, at Takapau, to the Makotoku stream, aboui 2£ miles No. 2.-—From Makotoku stream to Mangatewai-iti, about 2 miles No. 3.—From Mangatewai iti to Mangatera, about 2£ miles No. 4. From< Mangatera to Tahoraiti, about 3 miles No. s.—From Taboraiti to Matahi* wi, about li mil as No. 6.—From Matahiwi towards the Manawatu Gorge, 2 miles more or less No. 7.—2 miles more or less from No. 6 contract towards Manawatu, Gorge No. 8.-2 miles more or less from .
