Monday, Nov. 28. The Assembly have resolved to reduce the upset piice of land, ami also to increase the duty on beer. The floods have not yet subsided, Considerable damage has been done in many places. A mine of rock salt has been discovered near Scone. Commodore Stirling appeals, to the Sydney public for subscriptions for the survivors from the '♦ Captain.'' Earl Pembroke's yaclu. has been wrecked in +he South Sea*. The JSarl and crew will proceed to Auckland. Business, dull, and quotations un altered. The barque J£ate, from Auckland, and the John Knox and JSird, from Lyttelton, have arrived. The keversham has mailed from New ca-tl*, N.S.W., for Wellington. The barque Zihgari sailed from the Mauritius for Dunedin on 29th Oct.
