About 25 miles of bush requires to be feMed 1 cham wide, and a roadway cleared and stumped of 20 feet. The Work will be let in contracts of 2 to 2 miles as hereinafter described, viz.:— No. I.—From the entwtnce of the Manawatu Bush, at Takapau, Jo the Mekotoku stream, about 2J miles No. 2.—From Makotoku stream te Mangatewai-iti, about 2 miles No. 3.—From Mangatewai-iti to Mangatera, about 2J miles No. 4.—From Mangatera to Taho* raiti, about 3 miles No. s.—From Tahoraiti to Matahi* wi, about 1 \ miles No, 6.—From Matahiwi toward* the Manawatu Gorge, 2 miles more or less No. 7.—2 miles more or less from No. 6 contract towards Mana■watu Gorge No. 8.—2 miles more or less from No. 7 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 9.—2 miles more or le»» from No. 8 contract Exact, limits of Contracts sTos. 6 a*d 9 inclusive will be fixed after survey.
