Hair-cutting and Shampooing Saloon, HASTINGS STREET. 471 IEALED TENDERS will be received O up to noon on WEDNESDAY, the 21st December proximo, at thf* office of the undersigned, Napier, from paiti.es desirous of contracting for ROAD WORK in that portion of the Seventy-mile Bush situate between Takapau and the Manawatu Gorge. About 25 miles of bush requires to be felled 1 chain wide, and a roadway cleared and stumped of 20 feet. The Work will be let in contracts of 2 to 3 miles as hereinafter described, viz. : - jSTo I,—Fiom the entrance of the Manawatu Bush, at Takapau, to the Makofcoku stream, about 2^ miles No. 2.—From Makotoku stream to Mangatewai-iti, about 2 miles No. 3.—From Mangatewai iti to Mangatera, about 'l\ miles No. 4. —From Mangatera to Tahoraiti, about 3 miles No. 5. Tahoraiti to Matahi\vi, about \\ miles No 6.—From Matahiwi towards the • Manawatu Gorge, 2 miles more or less No. 7.-2 miles more or less from No. 6 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 8.-2 miles more or less from No. 7 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 9.—2 miles more or less* from No. 8 contiact Exact limits of Contracts Nos. 6 and 9 inclusive will be fixed after survey. Tenders to state the portion of the line, as described by number, for which the tender is intended. Tenders to state the rate at per chain. Specifications can be seen, from and after the lsc December proximo, at the Government Agent's office, Napier; Mr Rath bone's, Waipawa; and Mr Drower's, W'aipukunui. Further information will be supplied on application, to Mr Webtr's Survey Camp, on the Bush line. Separate Tenders will be hereafter called for necessary Bridges and Cuttings. J. D.
