SEALED willWreceWed up to noon on WEDNESDAY, the 21st December proximo, at the of* fice of the undersigned, Napier, from jxirtjes desirous of contracting for ROAD WORK in that portion of the Seventy-mile Bush situate, between Takapau and the Manawntn Gorge. About 25 miles of bush requires to be felled 1 chain wide, and a roadway cleared and stumped of 20 feet. The Work will be let in contracts of 2 to 3 miles as hereinafter described, viz. : No. I.—Ftom the entrance of the Manawatu Bush, at Takapau, to the Makotoku stream, about 1\ miles No. 2.—From Makotoku s'.ream to Mangatewai-iti, about 2 miles No. 3.—From Mangatewai iti to Mangatera, about %\ miles No. 4. From Mangatera to Tahoraiti, about 3 miles No. s.—Ftom Tahoraiti to Macahi•wi, about 14 miles No G.-—From Matahiwi towards the Manawatu Gorge, 2 miles more or less No. 7.—2 miles more or less from No. 6 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 8. —2 miles more or less from No. 7 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 9.—2 miles more or less from No. 8 contract Exact limits of Contracts Nos. 6 and 9 inclusive will be fixed after survey. Tenders to state distinctly the portion of the line, as described by number, for which the tender is intended. Tenders to state the rate at per chain. Specifications can be feen, from and after the Ist December proximo, at the Government Agent's office, Napier ; Mr Rathbone's, Waipawa; and Mr Drawer's, Waipnkniau. Further information will be supplied on application to Mr Webtr's Survey Camp, on the Bush line. Separate Tenders -will be hereafter called for necessary Bridges and Cuttings. , J. D.
