SEALED TENDERS will up to noon on WEDNESDAY, the 21st December proximo, at the=office of the undersigned, Napier, froto j)arties desirous of contracting for ROAD WORK in that portion of the Seventy-mile Bush situate i&Cyreen Takapau and the Manawatu Gorge. About 25 miles of bush requires to be felled I chain wide, and a roadway cleared and stumped of 20 feet. The Work will be let in contracts of 2 to 3 miles as hereinafter described, viz. : No. I.—From the entrance of the Manawatu Buah, at Takapau, to the Makotoku stream, about 2J miles No. 2.—From Makotokti stream to Mangatewai-iti, about 2 miles No. 3.—From Mangatewai-iti to Manga tera, about miles No. 4.—From Mangatera to Tahoraiti, about 3 miLes Ho. s.—fcVom Tahoraiti to Macahiwi, abotit 1J miles No 6.—From Matahiwi towards.the Manawatu Gorge, 2 miles more or less . No. 7.—2 miles more or less from No. 6 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 8.—2 miles more or less from No. 7 contract towards' Manawatu Gorge No. 9.—2 miles more or Lea* from No. 8 contiact Exact limits of Contracts Nos 6 and 9 inclusive will be fixed after survey. Tenders to state distinctly the portion of the line, as described by number, for which the tender is intended. Tenders to state the rate at per chain;' Specifications can be ?een, from and after the Ist; December proximo, at the Government Agent's office, Napier; Mr liathbone's, Waipawa; and Mr Drawer's, Waipukuiau.
