The Work will be let in contracts of 2 to 3 miles as hereinafter described, viz. : No. I.—From the entrance of the Manawatu Buah, at Takapau, to the Makotoku stream, about 2J miles No. 2.—From Makotokti stream to Mangatewai-iti, about 2 miles No. 3.—From Mangatewai-iti to Manga tera, about miles No. 4.—From Mangatera to Tahoraiti, about 3 miLes Ho. s.—fcVom Tahoraiti to Macahiwi, abotit 1J miles No 6.—From Matahiwi towards.the Manawatu Gorge, 2 miles more or less . No. 7.—2 miles more or less from No. 6 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 8.—2 miles more or less from No. 7 contract towards' Manawatu Gorge No. 9.—2 miles more or Lea* from No. 8 contiact Exact limits of Contracts Nos 6 and 9 inclusive will be fixed after survey. Tenders to state distinctly the portion of the line, as described by number, for which the tender is intended.
