IEALBD TENDERS will berecefred * up to noon on WEDNESDAY, the 31st December proximo, at the office of the undersigned, Napier, from }>arties desirous of contracting for ROAD WORK in that portion of the Seventy-mile Bush situate between Takapau and the Manawa tu Gorge. About 25 miles of bush requires to be felled 1 chain wide, and a roadway cleared and stumped of 20 feet. The Work will be let in contracts of 2 to 3 miles as hereinafter described, via. : No. I.—From the entrance of the Manawatu Bush, at Takapau, to the Makotoku stream, aboui 2| miles No. 2.—From Makotoku stream to Mangatewai-iti, about 2 miles No. 3.—From Mangatewai iti to Mangatera, about 2\ miles No. 4. —From Mangatera to Tahoraiti, about 3 miles No. s. —From Tahoraiti to Matahiwi, about 1| miles No 6.—From Matahiwi towards the Manawatu Gorge, 2 miles more or less No. 7.—2 miles more or less from No. 6 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 8.—2 miles more or less from No. 7 contract towards Manawatu Gorge No. 9.—2 miles more or less from No. 8 conti act Exact limits of Contracts Nos. 6 and 9 inclusive will be fixed after survey. Tenders to state distinctly the portion of the line, as described by number, for which the tender is intended. Tenders to state the rate at per chain. Specifications can be seen, from and after the Ist December proximo, at the Government Agent's office, Napier; Mr Rathbone's, Waipawa; and Mr Dn> wer'*, Waipukuiau. Further information will be supplied on application to Mr Webtr's Survey Camp, on the Bush line. Separate Tenders will be hereafter called for necessary Bridges and Cutlings. J. D.
