The Colonial G-oveimment p.s. Luna, Capt. Fairchild, from Wellington, arrived in Ahu riri roadstead at 5 p.m. on Saturday last, and entered the Irpn Pot at once. Left Wellington at 10.30 a.m. on Friday, 28th inst., and encountered a heavy S.E. gale. Hounded (3ape Palliser at 5 p.m. on Friday, and Bare Island at 1 p.m. on Saturday, arriving here as B,hove. Reports sighting the s.s.. Eangatira p{F Cape Tumagain at 6 a.m. on Saturday. The Luna left again late last night for various places on the East Coast as far north as. Tauranga ; and will then, we hear, return to this port. The schooner Muriwai, Captain W. Jones, arrived in port at 9 o'clock this morning. She left Poverty Bay at noon on Wednesday last, and arrived at Wangawehi at 10 o'clock the Dame night. Landed cargo und left at 7 a.m. yesterday, arriving here as above. Experienced fine weather throughout. [Reports having gighted the p.s. Luna, ijoing under easy steam pff the Old Man's Bluff at 1.15 a.m. to-day. The schoqner Meteor, Trimmer, master, |rom Auckland via the East Coast, arrived in the roadstead at 2 o'clock this afternoon, bringing a cargo of firewood and timber. The s.s. Keera left for Auckland at about 7 p'clook on Saturday evening with a cargo of pattle and sheep. The 8.8. Bangatira, henpe at 6.30 p.m.- on Friday arrived at Wellington at 11.30 p.m. on Saturday, The schooners Hero and Three Brothers are expected to leave for Waroa to-night. The schooner Can'erbui*y leaves for Picton it} a day or two ; and the Fhrt, for Lyttelton, yrili probably get away to-morrow. The 8.8. Lord Ashley left Wellington for JJapier, Tauranga, and Auckland at 2.3£> this afternoon.
