Sunday, Oct. 16. The hon. Mr Parkes has become insol\ent Liabilities, £30,000; assets, £13,000 The hon. Mr Egan, PostmasterGeneral, died suddenly last night. The law officers have decided that prosecutions caunot take place here for larceny committed in New Zealand. In the 100 yards' foot race between Hewitt and Harris, the former was the winner by one foot. The Galatea leaves for the South Seas in November. The Lady Bird has arrived from Wellington.
