The next English Mail via Suez is due at Melbourne on the 27th inst. The Napier Rifle were engaged in ball firing this morning, at 250, yards. The shooting was, on the whole, yery good. On Thursday morning, the. company wiU be again engaged in ball tiring, There was no business brought be-, fwe the Resident Magistrate's Court to morning.
A? a recent meeting of the Auckland Institute, a paper by Capt. F W. W. Hutton, on the "Artesian Wells of Napier," was read by the President, and Jed to an interesting discussion.
