AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET.
{Beport to October 14) [ME. ALFRED AUCKLAND.! At the Haymarket, on Saturday last, fodder was at a very low value, and unless of choice quality, there was scarcely any competition lor it. Yery few riding horses were brought forward. They were freely competed for, and better rates obtained than have lately ruled. Draught horses were more plentiful than usual, but were dull of sale and the greater part remained unsold. Dairy cows were in limited number, and met with a full sale at an advance on late market. Store cattle were penned in unusual large numbers, and prices were in favor of the buyer. Fat cattle were in full supply, 91 head sold to the trade. Medium quality were lower fully 20s each, and best animals barely maintained last week's rates. Store ewes and lambs were in better request. Pat sheep were in usual numbers, 700 sold, prices were higher than last from Is to 2s each. Lambs were in less numbers and met with a steady sale at fully laat week's rates, Pigs were numerous and at low value, excepting dairy fed animals of medium si?e, for these there was a good inquiry.
