Hawke's Bay Times. Nullius addictus jurare in verba magistri. MONDAY, AUGUST 29, 1870.
A general feeling of disappointment pievailed last evening on the fact becoming known that the Keera was not the bearer of the now long expected European mail via San Francisco. Tlie authorities seem to be playing at cross purposes in this matter. When a chance was afforded of sending it via the "West Coast and "Wellington, it was detained for a direct boat, and now a direct boat has come without it, we suppose it has after all been sent via the West Coast, and may perhaps arrive this day by the Lord Ashley. Meantime, it is excessively annoying, as the bulk of the correspondence must remain unanswered for another month. The Keera brings no news of general interest.
