AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET, (lleports to July 22.) [MR ALFRED BUCKTAXD.] At the Haymarket on Saturday last fodder was in full supply, and met with a better sale than previous week. Horse stock ware limited, both in quality and numbers, and but little business transacted. A young draught mare sold for £4O; unbroken colt for £2O; riding horses, from £4 to £ls; pack horses, £8 to £9 each; dog cart and harness, £l4 ; a Whitechapel cart, equal to new, £26 10s. On Thursday, at Uemueva, dairy cows were in moderate supoly; they were in demand, and all penned sold freely at late rates. Store cattle offered move abundantly than for several markets; prices showed an upward tendency, rat cattle were in full supply—lll sold for slaughter; a large number of them were of middling quality only. Those of best quality were 2/8 the lOOlbs less m price, but for inferior fatted stock there was no reduction in values. Sheep were in good supply —SOO penned; they were of belter than usual. quality, and the high prices of last week were fairly sustained, and many purchasers were short of their requirements. Merino ewes, oxComerang, brought from 11/ to lt\ each; Tarauaki wethers averaged 23/6 ; YVangaiiui wethers, 22/6 respectively ; Auckland bred long woolled wethers, shearing, brought from 32/ to 33/ each. Pigs were numerous and of good quality; upwards ot 140 penned; they met with a very free sale ot fully a half-penny per pound. [CAREY, GILLES, AMI HUNTER.] Horses.—There has been more animation in the market during the last week, and the number of sales has been above the average, although there is little improvement in the stamp offered for sale. There is a continued enquiry tor good draught stock, and light harness horses, together with vehicles, have been in improved request. We sold a Whitechapel cart for £2O 10/; baggy and harness for £49. We quote hacks from £o 10/ to £10; light harness, from £9 10/ to £l6 ; draught, from £25 to £o2 10/. Todder.—Supply above the average; attendance good; sales easily effected at late rates. Cattle.—Dairy cows in average supply, and little alteration in value; several were withdrawn, owing to vendors looking for extreme rates; prices for animals at calving ranged from £9 15/ to £l2 10/; dry cows, from £6 10/ to £9 ; store stock m short supply, with no alteration in value worthy of note ; fat beasts were penned in large numbers —the competition was good and prices remain firm. We quote 35/ per lOOlbs; and 37/6 for very prime beef., Sheep have offered more plentifully, but still in sufficient for requirements, and the late advance for fat stock has been fully maintained, while stores have been in better request. Half-breds sold at from 16/ to 22/; merinos, 14/. Pigs in short supply, but of superior quality; a slight advance in price was obtained.
