We observe that a public meeting to consider the financial proposals of the Government is called for this evening by a placard posted about the town. The placard bears no signature, ami the parties calling the meeting, whoever they may be, have not adopted the usual course of notifying it by advertisement;. However, as* the subject is of the utmost importance, we hope that all interested—and who is noil —will attend.
