Fob Wairoa—St. Eilda, this day; Three Brothers, Hero, and Why Not early The s.s. Lord Ashley, Capt. Wheeler, left Napier for Auckland at 12.15 p.m. on the 9th, with light N.W. winds and heavy head sea till rounding the East Cape at 9 p.m. on the '. oth; from thence to White Island, at 4.30 p.m., heavy beam sea; after which experienced light S.W. wind and fine weather, arriving in Auckland on the 11th May. Left Auckland wharf at 3.30 p.m. on the 12th, rounded Cape Colville at 7.20 p.m. same day; sighted White Island at 10 a.m. 13th, and the East Cape at 0 p.m., same day and arrived in the Ahuriri roads at 1.20 p.m. on the 14th. Experienced strong S.E. winds and heavy sea till 4 a.m. on Saturday, from thence to port fine weather and smooth water. The Lord Ashley left for Wellington at 4.15 p.m. same day. The Colonial Government steamer St. Kilda, Captain Barnard, left Napier at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Ist May, and arrived at Poverty Bay at 10 p.m. Left Poverty Bay at 9.30 a.m. on the 2nd, and. arrived at Opotiki at noon on the 3rd. Left Opotiki at 3 p.m. same day, and arrived at Maketu at 11 p.m. Left Maketu at 5.30 the following morning, and arrived at Tauranga at 9 a.m., meeting with flue weather on the passage. Left Tauranga at 0 a.m. on the sth, and arrived at Maketu at 11.30 a.m. At 5 p.m. a strong gale from the N,E. having arisen, put back to Tauranga for shelter. On the 9th, the weather having somewhat moderated, left Tauranga at 7 p.m., arriving at Opotiki at «3 a.m. on the 10th; but found it impossible to communicate with the shore. Left Opotiki at 5 p.m. on the 11th; anchored at Kawakawa at 8 a.m. on the 12th with strong gales from the S.E., and thick weather. Left Kawakawa at 1 p.m. on the 13th; arrived at Poverty Bay at 5 a.m. on the 14th; left Poverty Bay at 10 a,m., and arrived in Napier at 9.30 p.m. Captain Barnard reports sighting a topsail schooner at anchor under the East Cape, and a fore-and-aft schooner, supposed to be the Muriw-ii, off Portland Island, at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The St. Kilda took in about 14 tons of coal yesterday. She will leave for Wairoa this morning, and will return to-night. The s.s. Star of the Soutli has arrived in harbor as we go to press this morning. The s.s. Storm Bird, Captain Doile, left Napier at noon on Thursday last, with 12 casks tallow, 17 bales wool, and sundries, and arrived at Wellington at 4.20 p.m. next day. The schooner Muriwai, Harris, master, sailed for Poverty Bay on Thursday. The schooner Saucy Lass, hourly expected from Auckland, has not arrived as we go to press this morning. The ship Mallard will leave Auckland for London on the 23rd May. A fore-and-aft schooner, named the Merlin, has been launched from Mr H. Niccol's yard, North Shore, Auckland.
