For Wellington—Storm Bird, s.s., this day Waikoa—Thiiee Brothers, Hero, and Why Not early Poverty Bay—Murewai, early The schooner Hero, Campbell, master, left Napier on Tuesday, 3rd inst., had light southerly wiud, and entered the Wairoa river next morning l . Left again on Sunday, and arrived here on Monday. The Wairoa bar is reported as beiug in a very bad state. Cargo : 200 bags maize, 3 buls sheepskins, 9 hides, 7 empty casks. The s.s. Storm Bird, Capt. Doile, left the Manukau at noon on the 3rd inst., and arrived at Taranaki at 1 p.m. on the 4th ; left at 5 p.m. the same day, and arrived at Wanganui at noon on the sth ; left again at noon on the 6th, and arrived at Wellington at 2 a m. on the 7th ; left again at 8 a.m. on the 10th, and arrived here at 10 a.m. on the 11th (yesterday.) From the Manukau to Wanganui she experienced strong head winds and heavy sea, and from Wanganui to Napier fine weather. The s.s. Lord Ashley, Capt. Wheeler, steamed for Auckland at noon on Monday, with 25 bales wool, Kinross & Co.; 25 bales wool, Stuart & Co.; 5 bales wool, Routledge, Kennedy & Co. She took several passengers. The schooner Aparima, Spence, was to have left Dunedin for Napier on the 3rd inst., and may, therefore, be hourly expected to arrive. She will bring the following cargo:—ls hhds., 10 barrels, 2i5 pekgs. hardware, 1 case, 200 bags flour, 20 pekgs., 1 buggy. The Aparima comes consigned to Messrs. Routledge, Kennedy & Co. The p.s. Comerang resumed her voyage to the Thames and Auckland on Tuesday morning. The schooner Murewai will, we believe, leave for Poverty Bay to-day. The schooner Saucy Lass, from Wangapoa, with timber and shingles, may be now considered due. The s.§, Star of the South may not, we believe, be expected to return from Aackland for some days, as she was to have been placed on the patent slip this trip. An English Mail via Marseilles and Suez will, we belipve, be forwarded per Storm Bird this day. A sitting of the Supreme Court in banco was held in Wellington on the 2nd inst. before his Honor Mr Justice Johnston, but with the exception of the following case the proceedings were not of much interest tp Napier readers :—ln ex parte Carlyon, the Attorney General obtained a rule nisi to quash a conviction befor the Resident Magistrates Court at Napier for contempo, I
