NAPIER. Hawke's Bay Times Office, Monday morning. We have to report that laree exportations of wool and flax to Auckland and Wellington, for transhipment to England, have taken place from this port during the past month. The export of live stock during the like period shows a marked improvement, comprising 287 head cattle and 1,080 sheep. Two steamers —the s.s. 'Star of the South' and p.s.'Comerang' —are at present engaged in this trade. At a sale of wool held by Messrs. Routledge, Kennedy and Co., on the Eastern Spit, ou Thursday last, 11 bales were disposed of at per lb. The flax industry is assuming large proportions in this Province. Three more machines arrived from Auckland by the 'Star of the South' on Saturday last.
