A Melbourne telegram dated 16th Aoril, states that a new gold-field has been discovered near Mansfield. An Adelaide telegram dated 17th April says : —The Lady Fergusson, coasting cutter, foundered off Aiding, on Saturday. The crow were saved. There have been more floods in Gippsland, but on the 18th the waters were receding. At nooo on the 20th April the whole of the Victorian Ministers were declared to be re* elected. They were all unopposed. Mr Michie had the option of five seats, but chose Ballarat; a requisition to him having been signed by one thousand electors of that district. A Melbourne telegram of the 20th April states: —A ploughman uneerthed a sixty-ounce nugget at Bullarook whilst ploughing in his farm. A Brisbane telegram of the 14th April states that Maxwell, the lighthouse-keeper at Cape Moreton, has been washed off the rocks and drowned. A Bockhampton telegram, 20th April, reports :—Alderman Davies's wife was found dead on her bedroom floor last night; a post mortem examination was held by three doctors this morning. D avies has been arrested on suspicion of foul play, while under the influence of drink; the inquest will be held to-morrow.
