Otago.—The Daily Times, 18th April, reports as follows: Fine wheats have been in better request for milling purposes. Transactions occurring have ranged in price from 4/ to 4/3. Barley has been in light inquiry, the value standing at from 4/ to 4/2. Oats continue worth 2/3 to 2/4, at which rate parcels for delivery a short time hence have been taken up. The demand for flour has been small, and only for local wants, The town-made brands stand at £lOlO/ to £11; bran is quoted at £4 10/; oatmeal, at £l6 10/ to £l7; and pearl barley, £27 10/. The business done in the auction marts durthe week has not been of any account. Auckland Live Stock Market.—The following is Mr Alfred Buckland's report for the week ending Friday, 15th April:— At the Haymarket, on Saturday last, there was an increased quantify of hay brought forward for sale, but late prices were fully sustained. Horse stock were also more free of sale than on previous Saturday. Best draught brought from £3O to £32 10/ each. At the Remnera yards, on Thursday, there was a large muster of catte, and a full attendance. Prices for store cattle were rather higher than last week. Dairy cows, forward in calf, and at calving, were in demand at full rates; they brought from £lO to £l6 10/ each. Pat cattle were in larger than usual number, 145 head sold. Prices for best cattle' were lower—about 2/6 the hundred pounds—and coarse animals were at low values. The sheep market was in average supply. There was an unsatisfied enquiry for long-woolled store sheep, and but slight advance on stock of this description was obtained. There was no alteration in values of fat sheep. Lambs were more numerous, and at lower prices. Pigs were in less numbers than for several weeks, but with no improvement in price.
