Maggie, brig, 191 tons, Arnold, from Hobart Town.—J. H. Vautier, agent ARRIVAL OF THE BRIG MAGGIE FROM HOBART TOWN. The favorite brig Maggie, Capt. Arnold, arrived in Ahuriri roadstead at noon on Thursday, March 24*, from Hobart Town, with the following cargo, consigned to her owner, Mr J. 11. Vautier:— I 180 cases jam, 47.000 feet timber, 1-10 prs shafts, 1100,000 shingles, 11,000 5-I'eet palings, 1,900 B-feet 'palings, 100 hurdles, 12 bullock poles, 1,500 wattle |staves, 181 hags potatoes, 1 pocket hops, 25 bar [malt, 1)1 hags coke, 3 crates fowls, 75 cases fruit. !—The Maggie left Napier on Monday, January 17, with light wind from the N.E. ; cleared the Kidnappers at 6 o'clock the same evening, and bore up for Cook's Straits; at midnight, the wind died away—weather dark and cloudy. At 2 p.m. on the 18th, otf Bare Island, the wind veered to the southward, with heavy rain. Bore up for the East Cape, which was passed at C> p.m. on the 19th, with a fine breeze from the southward. Off Cape Breit, spoke the s.s. Auckland, from Sydney to Auckland. Cleared the North Cape at 5 p.m. on the 22nd ; passed the Three Kings on the 23rd, at .1 p.m., when the wind went round to S.E., and continued so till the £6th ; and northerly winds for two days after. On the 28th, encountered a strong southerly gale with heavy sea. Passed a e ship, bound to the southward, in latitude 33.4-2 S., longitude 147.24 E. Arrived at Newcastle, N.S.W., at. 0 a.m. on the Ist February. Discharged ballast, &c, the same night; loaded a cargo of coal, °nd at II a.m. on the 4th sailed for Hobart Town. Had light variable winds till off Jarvis Bay ; a heavy southerly gale, with high sea, was then experienced for three days, and moderate winds with fine weather 'ill off Cape Pillar at 4 p.m. on the 17th, when another southerly gale was encountered. Entered the river Dervvent about 3 p.m. on the 18th ; came to anchor at Hobart Town at (J p.m. the same day, and hauled alongside the wharf; commenced discharging on the 19th, and finished on the 20th ; commenced loading on the 28th, and finished on the 4th March, and took I her departure lor Napier on the oth ; owing to a strong southerly breeze prevailing, came to an anchor in Sandy Bay. At 2 a.m. on the 01 h, the wind having gone round to the northward, weighed anchor and proceeded to sea; passed the Iron Pot at 5 a.m., and rounded Cape Pillar at noon the same day; experienced strong southerly wind for two days, when light variable winds with fine weather were met with. Made the land at 10 p.m. on the 15th, and passed Cape Farewell at 6 a.m. on the 10th. The same morning spoke the Canterbury, schooner, from Greymouth to Port Cooper. Mad light airs and calms till the 19-Ui. On that day spoke the schooner Dunedin, bound to Hokitika. Passed through Cook's Straits on the 21st; experienced light and variable winds up the coast; passed Cape Kidnappers at 7.30 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, and brought up in Ahuriri roads at noon the same day. The Maggie was brought inside on Saturday, and moored alongside the wharf at the entrance of the Iron Pot. We have to thank Mr Vautier for a file of the Tasmaniau Times, from the Ist to the oth March, to hand per Maggie.

The schooner Muriwai, Toke, master, left Poverty Bay at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, with a N.E. wind, which continued throughout the passage. She arrived in port at noon the next day. Cargo: 45 cases apples, 10£ hales wool. The Murewai left again for Poverty Bay on Saturday afternoon. The ketch Wild Duck left Poverty Bay for Napier via Wangawehi the same day as the Muriwai, and may, therefore, be hourly looked for. The s.s. Star of the Sputh may be exoected to arrive from Auckland to-night or to-morrow morning. The schooners Kauri, Three Brothers, and Hero may be all daily expected to arrive.
