REGISTRATION OF ELECTORS.

TO THE EDItOR OP THE HAWKE'S BAT TIMES. Sib, —Can you inform me whether there is any registration of newly qualified voters as usual this year, or if there is any alteration of the law in the matter ? It has been usually the case for the Registration Officer to give notice by advertisement of his being able to register new claims in the beginning of a year, but it does not appear to be done on this occasion. Does the new Government wish to discourage electoral registration, or why is it that no notice is given P—Yours, &c, Enquirer. [We know of no alteration of the law in regard to the registration of claims to be placed on the list of electors, which, we suppose, can be done during this and the next month, and might have been done during the last month. We presume that in the matter of not giving notice the Registration Officer is in fault.—Ed.]
